Tips to Selection of Motherboard

Motherboard is one of the important parts of the computer. The entire computing process is based on the motherboard.

The technology of the motherboard are always upgrade frequently in a year. The system is getting more compact and the capacity of the motherboard is get increases. People always love fast speed and they are always in search of higher version of the CPU.

1. System upgaradation includes change in capacity of the processor. The new versions of processors are available from many companies. If you are looking for upgraded version of the processor, you must have to select the processor based on the present system configuration
.

2. Apart from the processor, it is essential to select the proper upgraded processor as per your budget. You must have to consult the system engineer to get the suitable version of the processor to replace the current processor. In the earlier years the Celeron mother boards were installed in most of the system and in laptop or notebook.

3. In the present era, Pentium grade and new version of processor are available with higher capacity of the processing the database. Similarly you must have to upgrade the BIOS as per your configurations.

4. If you install the faster processor than it carry more power load and if you install old version of motherboard than it does not work so it is better to select the proper motherboard that suits to your requirement.

5. The motherboard is available around $100 pr more. You must have to select the proper version of the processor based on the motherboard. If you want to install the motherboard you must have to get the details about the capacity of the motherboard that suits to your needs.

It is better to select the motherboard that suits to your existing needs.

Motherboard Essentials

Motherboard is the foremost computer part that you should consider when assembling a PC. It is popularly called the heart of the computer since all components are connected to it. Basically, it relays information from and to all components. So when you assemble a PC, buy the motherboard first.

Buying a motherboard can be easy and convenient since they are already sold at a motherboard online store. All you have to do is list all your motherboard requirements and conveniently shop at a motherboard online store. If you're unsure of your motherboard requirements, below is a rundown of the usual requirements.

1. Size. A motherboard is available in different sizes. If you are buying a motherboard to replace an old defective one, then be sure that you buy the same size as your old one; your motherboard may not fit inside your existing computer case. But if you are buying a motherboard for a new assembly, then the size factor will depend on the components that you wish to install.

2. Processor Type and Socket. The motherboard socket is where the processor is plugged-in. It used to be that processors such as Intel and AMD were able to share the same socket. But now, after a few years of improving processors, each brand of processor has its own socket type determined by the number of pins on it. Basically, you won't be able to transfer from one brand of processor to another without replacing the motherboard as well. Even though replacing motherboard can be easy through a motherboard online store, the price tag can always cause a pinch. So if you want to avoid the unnecessary expenses of replacing a non-defective motherboard, carefully choose a processor that will match your CPU needs and use.

3. CPU components. The CPU components that should be specifically considered when buying a motherboard are: hard drive, memory and power supply. Memory cards are continually advancing and as they advance, their sockets advance drastically as well. The DDR for instance, the most commonly used memory card has 184 pins while the newly released DDR-2 has 240 pins. In the memory card market, the older version is usually phased out when a new version is released. So naturally, when your older version of memory card needs replacement, you may also need to replace the motherboard. This can be very frustrating especially if your motherboard does not have any defects. Therefore, to avoid being in this kind of situation, buy a motherboard that is compatible with the recent memory card versions.

The hard drive has more or less a similar story with memory cards. There are two types of hard drives available in the market: ATA and SATA, ATA being the older version and SATA the recent version. Recent versions of motherboards support both types but there are already quite a number that support only SATA. Manufacturers of the latter type may be anticipating an ATA phase out, so you may want to go with their anticipation. But just to be on the safe side, buy a motherboard that supports both HD types.

As CPU components advance, their power supply requirements advance as well. The typical motherboard power supply pins are in 20s and 24s. Moreover, newly launched processors, such as those from Intel and AMD, have separate power supply pins to support their high clock speed. So when you buy a motherboard for a new CPU assembly, consider the power supply requirements of your components.

Radical Motherboards

PCs
are phenomenally flexible, configurable devices. That's kinda why we love 'em so much. But there are limits to what you can achieve. And most of those are defined by your choice of motherboard, all of which means clarity of purpose is paramount. Identify what you want from your PC and make sure you have a motherboard to match.

This month we've selected a trio of motherboard pairings to suit three popular usage models: small-form factor systems with HTPC capability, overclocking rigs and high-end multi-GPU gaming monsters.

Before we come to the boards in question, what of the seminal AMD or Intel question? Actually, at the moment it's often not much of a quandary thanks to the feebleness of most of AMD's processor product range. We've said it before, but it's seriously bad news for the entire PC industry to have AMD struggling to keep Intel honest.

If the much needed 45nm die shrink of the AMD Phenom family of processors doesn't close the gap significantly, expect to see Intel push up the prices. For now, if performance is a priority, AMD chips are frankly uncompetitive, even at the more affordable end of the spectrum. But throw issues such as power consumption, form factor and HTPC considerations into the mix and it's a very different story.

For the HTPC-centric category, we've therefore turned to a pair of brand new AMD-compatible boards with the latest and most sophisticated integrated chipsets, the GeForce 8200M from NVIDIA and AMD's 780G. If there's an Intel-powered alternative that comes close to these two for small-form factor media PC prowess, we've yet to see it.

Palit's N78S and the Gigabyte GA-MA780GM-S2H are both micro-ATX boards with all passive cooling and fancy new DirextX 10 capable integrated CPUs. Indeed, they both represent our first taste of a new take on multi-GPU graphics rendering from NVIDIA and AMD, dubbed 'Hybrid SLI' and 'Hybrid CrossFire' respectively.

The basic idea behind both is the pairing up of the motherboard's integrated GPU with a discrete graphics card. But the details diverge enough to make them substantially different propositions.

Pairing Up

Both solutions allow users to boost the performance of an add-in graphics card by running it in multi-GPU mode with the integrated graphics chip. According to claims from both NVIDIA and AMD, the result is a big boost in performance for low-end graphics cards. In practice, it's an overly complex and inefficient way of achieving barely acceptable 3D performance, but more on that later. Hybrid CrossFire's abilities more or less end there. The more attractive of the two by far is Hybrid SLI, represented by Palit's N78S and its NVIDIA GeForce 8200M chipset. That's because Hybrid SLI cap also act as a power-saving measure for high performance PCs. In this scenario, users can switch between a powerful but noisy and glutinous graphics board and the onboard integrated GPU from within Windows.

There's no need to reboot or swap monitor cables around. Connect your monitor to the motherboard's video-out port and allow the NVIDIA driver software to do the rest. That includes completely powering down the add-in GPU and its cooling fan. Clever, eh? Hybrid graphics with DirectX 10 support isn't the only common feature. These boards also share the honor of sporting the first integrated chipsets to boast full hardware acceleration of all three of the important video codecs, VC-1, AVC and MPEG2. In both cases, this comes courtesy of the latest 2D video engines from NVIDIA and AMD, known as PureVideo HD and UVD. That's precisely what you need, of course, to guarantee smooth playback of full 1080p Blu-ray discs.

Home HD Motherboards

If these two home cinema-centric boards are remarkably similar, there's also not much between the P35 pairing we've selected for the overclocking showdown. The fact is, Intel's P35 remains the weapon of choice, if it's pure CPU speed you're seeking. Remarkably, that remains the case even with the arrival of NVIDIA's swanky new 790i, a chipset we suspected might just topple the P35 chipset from its position of king of the overclockers.

It's not uncommon to see P35 hit bus speeds in excess of 500MHz without the need for hit and miss tweaking of northbridge voltages. Even Intel's latest X48 chipset typically tends to run out of puff around 475MHz. In that context, attention to detail and execution will separate MSI P35 Platinum from Asus's trusty P5K3 Deluxe.

But what of high-end motherboard design to form the basis of multi-GPU performance PCs? Until recently, the pickings were a bit thin. Intel's X38 and X48 chipsets are fine things indeed, in terms of performance. But thanks to NVIDIA's decision to lock SLI technology down to its own chipsets (unnecessarily in our view), the X38 and X48 only support AMD's competing CrossFire platform. That meant SLI fans were forced to go with the somewhat substandard NVIDIA 680i or 780i option. But not anymore. NVIDIA is back on form with the 790i. It will be an extremely tight contest for top honors. If that's the theory behind all these boards, how do they perform in the silicon?

Perhaps the most intriguing motherboards here are the AMD-compatible micro-ATX pair. In concert with a low voltage dual-core Athlon 64 processor they deliver truly spectacular power efficiency. Both of the boards are within spitting distance of 100 watts running at full CPU load and idle around the 50 watt mark.

That's for a full system with 2GB of RAM, hard disk and optical drive. That represents as little as a quarter of the consumption of a high-end quad-core rig. It also translates into extremely unobtrusive operation that's a perfect match for a home cinema installation Less impressive is the performance of its much-touted DX10 integrated GPUs, in 3D mode at least. Neither are capable of anything remotely resembling a pleasant gaming experience. And frankly neither pack enough grunt to make the Hybrid dual-GPU option at all attractive.

Where things get more interesting is the contest for home cinema prowess. And that must go to the Gigabyte thanks to its HDMI port and fully driver-supported 2D acceleration core. Add in a low-voltage AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor and you have a motherboard and CPU combo with full HD capabilities for just $l80.

As for the P35 overclocker's boards, it is mostly one-way traffic. A result of 520MHz is an impressive bus speed to hit for any Intel-compatible motherboard. The fact that the Asus P5K3 Deluxe can achieve it without any voltage tweaks makes for an extremely user-friendly overclocking platform. You can be confident you'll get the most out of any CPU with this motherboard.

Our only doubt involves the fact that it's a DDR3 motherboard. In theory the higher clockspeeds of DDR3 memory should be a boon for overclocking. In practice, a pair of quality DD2 memory DIMMs do the job just tine. Factor in the current utterly ludicrous price of DDR3 memory sticks and the benefits just don't add up.

Performance per Pound

All of which just leaves just the big ticket X48 and 790i pairing from MSI and Asus respectively. There's no doubting the all new Striker II Extreme from Asus is a sickeningly desirable thing. Everything from its feature-packed BIOS, to the hardware power and reset buttons and the northbridge heatsink pre-plumbed for water cooling, reek of quality, class and most of all expense.

The 790i chipset also brings NVIDIA's SLI platform bang up to date with DDR3 and proper PCI Express support, as well as decent overclocking headroom. As good as it is, however, it simply cannot be worth nearly $450. Particularly when it offers less overclocking oomph than Asus's own sub-$l50 Intel P35 board. The performance advantage of the 790i chipset is far too slender to make any real world difference, too.

The spoils must therefore go to MSI's X48 platinum. It's a lean, mean enthusiast board at a sensible price. Yes, it does lock you into AMD's CrossFire platform in terms of multi-GPU support. But until NVIDIA puts the interests of buyers ahead of its own selfish desires to maximize revenues from SLI chipsets, the perfect multi-GPU platform simply isn't possible.

Buying Ddr Memory

The DDR SDRAM is an enhanced version of the old school SD RAM. Known as double data rate synchronous dynamic random access memory this chip has a much greater bandwidth to offer to its users. The thing that makes this memory integrated circuit different is that it unlike the other circuits it transfers the data on both the rising and falling edges of the clock signal. This is what makes the DDR Memory Ram highly efficient as it gives you double the speed while maintaining the same frequency on the front side bus.

The DDR memory chips that are available in the market have no architectural differences with regards to the clock frequencies that they have been designed for. The number denoted on the chip is an indication of the speed at which the device will be performing. Underclocking is the phenomenon of making your chip run at a speed lower than that which has been specified. Overclocking is the exact opposite of this phenomenon. Amateurs should however not experiment with their memory chips in this manner as it may lead to damage.

You will find some new chipsets to be making use of dual and quad channel configurations. This is done for the purpose of increasing the bandwidth. In order to reap maximum benefits of a dual channel configuration you should make use of a pair of matching memory modules.

The internet offers you a unique opportunity to look for DDR Memory chips for your desktop computer. Some the Computer Memory chipsets available online are:

Asus P5k3

The passage of time rapidly turns most PC components from nubile young things into withered old crones. It's just the way of the world. But not this Asus board. It's arguably even more of a goer than it was at launch. It's enough to make you wonder whether there's a portrait of a dusty and desiccated P5K3 hidden in the attic.

The reason for the P5K3's Dorian Gray status, of course, is that Intel's P35 chipset has yet to be eclipsed for pure overclocking. Meanwhile it just gets cheaper. In our tests, it achieved a startling 520MHz bus frequency without northbridge voltage tweaking. It's a great choice for making the most of cheap Intel processors with annoyingly low (and locked) CPU multipliers. Its no-nonsense feature set adds to the built-for-speed allure.

MSI P35 Platinum

The Intel P35 chipset's status as the weapon of choice for overclocking slaps on it perilously lofty expectations. It's easy to forget that it's a mainstream chipset. The same logic applies to MSI's P35 Platinum board.

This is a sub $200 motherboard that nevertheless packs quite a solid feature set, including support for the latest 1,333MHz Intel processors and quality copper cooling for the chipset. Notably, MSI has also plumped for the DDR2 rather than DDR3 memory support, which arguably makes more sense at this price point.

The existence of Asus's P5K3, flattens the P35 Platinum for raw overclockability, though. Granted, a bus speed of 475MHz is far from poor. But the extra 50MHz the Asus achieves crucially maximizes the performance of Intel's cheaper Core 2 chips.

Intel Back in the Graphics

In the northern hemisphere, spring is always the time for new things: lambs, leaves and Larrabee chipsets. Yes, it's the Intel Developers Forum in Beijing again, where Intel shows off its latest kit to the other manufacturers.

Pride of place was given to the Nehalem chipset, which features up to eight cores and uses simultaneous multi-threading across up to four cores. Intel showed a 25 per cent increase in performance over Penryn processors, and up to a 33 per cent reduction in power usage.

Also demonstrated was a Nehalem-powered game engine, featuring a meteor strike and flames spreading realistically through a village, with graphics, physics and animal Al being handled by different parts of the processor. Intel's Ron Fosner said that multi-core chips could take over from discrete graphics cards, and are capable of providing a gaming experience reserved for top-end graphics cards. The Nehalem is expected in early 2009.

Still in its infancy, the Larrabee graphics processing unit marks Intel's re-entry into the graphics cards. It features a 16 to 24 core chipset, capable of processing different instructions for ray-tracing or physics effects. Intel also showed off its Tukwila and Dunnington processors. Details on the Tukwila are sketchy, but it's based on the Itanium chipset, will feature multiple cores and is due later this year. The Dunnington is the first Xeon chipset to make use of multiple cores.

Aside from Intel's offerings, Samsung displayed its ultra-slim 1.8-inch, 128GB solid state drive hard disks, and 4 to 8GB RAM configurations. Asus all-conquering Eee was shown with one of Intel's new Atom processors, which promises better battery life and higher performance. And Intel's own portable, learning-based Classmate 2 was paraded with a new 9-inch screen.

The most innovative third-party offerings was lightfield photography being touted by a digital photography company called ReFocus. Instead of capturing pixels, the tech traces the way light bounces around a scene. This results in pictures where every part of the image is in focus, and focus can even be adjusted after pictures have been taken. It's processor-intensive, but this could result in cheaper, lighter and more versatile digital cameras.

Another great idea was displayed by Compal. Its laptop cooling system uses heatpipes to transfer heat away from the processor and onto the laptop's lid, where it's dispersed. There are no fans or moving parts, and the interior of the laptop can be totally sealed.

PC architecture is going to change substantially in the next few years, with integration and scalability being at the heart of Intel's movements. In the future we can expect tiny PCs with graphics integrated into the processor and no moving parts, which can't be bad.

ntel's X58 Chipset

Hey everyone, this is Icarus here with some thought on the new Intel X58 chipset.

The Intel X58 chipset was released during November of 2008, and was released as a successor of X48. Now, the importance here is not just the name itself; this is a direct challenge to all of the computer hardware
companies out there that have been making large amounts of money off of nVidia chipset motherboards. Now, how does this effect you, the consumer who has sparked an interest in computer hardware?

Well, here's the thing: the X58 chipset can run SLI. Yes, I just said that: it can run SLI. For those of you who don't know what SLI is, I will explain it in another article today. For now, I will just say that SLI is a program created by NVidia that allows the computer to run more than one video card at the same time.

Now, why does SLI in the X58 matter so much? Well here's the reason why: it takes away a valuable advantage NVidia chipsets had over Intel chipsets. Traditionally, Intel chipsets were only able to run Crossfire and CrossfireX, or just a single NVidia video card without SLI. NVidia chipsets, on the other hand, can only run NVidia Graphics cards(with the exception of patches for some ATI graphics cards) but can run two in SLI and even three in TriSLI. However, now that the X58 can run NVidia graphics cards(GPU's), more consumers will begin to turn to this chipset.

Now, NVidia loses more than one battle here. One of NVidia chipsets motherboards' main concerns for consumers was the price tag. The fact is, that many NVidia chipset motherboards are more expensive than the Intel chipset motherboards. However, this was justifiable because NVidia still had the SLI and TriSLI advantage over Intel chipsets. Now that the X58 chipset can run NVidia GPU's in SLI, NVidia has lost one advantage, and lots its justification for the price tags. And because most consumers only go as far as running two graphics cards in SLI, NVidia may lose a lot of loyal customers.

However, this does not mean that NVidia will fade away or go bankrupt. X58 chipset motherboards can run two graphics cards in SLI, but it cannot run three graphics cards in SLI. NVidia can; therefore, NVidia still gets to keep the enthusiast market under its arms. Another advantage NVidia still has is its apparent ability to overclock better than Intel chipsets. While this advantage may seem to be mysterious because most consumers do not know why this is so, this is still an advantage that NVidia will hold onto. Therefore, NVidia will still be able to keep most of the consumers who know how to overclock well.

The replacement to last year’s U900 Soul is here, and according to to the tradition of Samsung’s mobile division, also sport the best features ever seen in a mobile phone. The SGH-S8300 or Ultra Touch, combines several significant design elements of past mobile phone models; a capacitive touchscreen, Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface as well as the extreme slimness of the ULTRA-series. All this makes for an awesome combination on paper.

The device exudes an ultra-premium feel with its brushed metal look as well as dominating touchscreen on the front. Sliding the device up reveals a stylish keypad which is almost seamless from left to right, making the otherwise small area seem large. When the phone is slid upwards, an 8 mega-pixels digital camera is also revealed on the rear of screen, making it easy to snap images while keeping its technological prowess a secret at the same time.

Activating the touchscreen while simply clicking the Lock button on the right of the phone reveals a gorgeously colored theme as well as the now familiar TouchWiz user interface. Using the same widget docking system that can be found on the OMNIA, users are able to easily drag and drop information onto the main screen, which can be scrolled to fit many open widgets at the same time. With the Ultra Touch, users are now able to install widgets of their own, although at the time of writing, offerings are still few.

Navigation through the phone menus is done by manipulating the touch screen, as there is no five-way navigational button on this mobile. Save for a touch-based virtual button, there is only single Return physical button on the front of the device for quitting applications. Otherwise, messaging is made possible via the alphanumeric keypad as well as virtual buttons which can be hassle if you need to edit parts of the message. With a capacitive touchscreen as the only display, the Ultra Touch suffers from slight navigational problems, the most critical one being scrolling. Even with no fingernails, the screen isn’t accurate enough for scrolling or even pressing a tiny virtual button, especially when faced with alert screen.

A couple of good features on this device include the 8-mega pixels camera, while creating large image files which suck-up memory has surprisingly good image quality for a mobile device, and the geo-tagging feature which comes with it. This ensures that friends and family are able to track your location, particularly useful on a long holiday. Battery life is good too, and for such specifications, the phone seems to last two and half days on a charge, with a moderate calls as well as multimedia usage.

The convenience of a touch screen mobile phone is still debatable, but otherwise, this Ultra Touch shows that it is able to work well providing that you combine a usable interface and some style too! It just need some polishing in terms of screen accuracy and overall speed to be a serious contender to smartphones in terms of usability.

Samsung Ultra Touch Specifications :

HTC Touch Cruise Smartphone

HTC recently announced the launching of the Touch Cruise. But this time around, it comes with better navigation capabilities and a new geo-tagging feature, an idea that HTC played around with but was ridden with bugs So does the new Touch Cruise deliver? Read on.

Compared to the first-gen Touch Cruise, the new one is of a smaller build, and a slim one to boot. But in terms of design, the two look pretty much the same. The new Touch Cruise still has four buttons on the fascia with a navigation wheel surrounding the OK button. But if you haven’t noticed, the screen is smaller; 2.8 inch to be exact. While this may disappoint some HTC fans, the idea behind the new Touch Cruise is its geo-tagging capabilities.

There is one major improvement that HTC has done with the Touch Cruise, that being the Footprints feature. Basically, Footprints allows you to take a picture of a location, and do more with it than what we could before. You can add comments, fill in a description, and even record your voice which is then attached to the image. Not only that, Footprints actually saves the coordinates of the location via GPS, so if you’re back in the location on holiday, you’ll be able to find the place and even recount what happened there.

Spec wise, the second-gen Touch Cruise doesn’t differ much from its earlier model; it runs on a Qualcomm MSM7225 processor with a clockspeed of 528MHz. It does however, have 256MB of RAM and 512 of additional built-in storage. On the downside, since the screen only supports QVGA resolution, it utilises TouchFLO 2D.
As much as I was indifferent, I’d have to say that the Footprints feature is indeed a very useful one. And with an extra microSD slot, one can save many more images and send them to friends who want to travel. But as a general purpose smartphone, some might find its feature a bit lacking. Nevertheless, it does a decent job for midrange phone.

Four Processor Core Computer

So just what is it that makes a quad processor core computer
what it is? In short, it simply contains four processor cores and they are considered classified in the multi-core computer family
. While the quad processor core computer may be much faster then a standard computer, a good deal of the performance of one of these multi-core computers depends on the type of programs ran in it.

Is a Four Processor Core Computer Faster?

The most popular myth surrounding the quad processor core computer is that it will run four times faster then a computer with only one processor core in it. The fact is that this is only partly true, as it only apples with programs that were meant to be run on a computer with a single processor core in it.

Quad Core Computers and Multi-Tasking

However; as far as over all performance is concerned, quad core computers are much faster at performing multiple tasks simultaneously. Take for instance multiple virtual machines
. These can be ran with four processor cores. One thing to bear in mind though, is that the overall number of virtual machines depends entirely on the amount of memory space that your four processor core computer has in it.

A More Affordable Option To a Quad Core Computer

The truth of the matter however, is that the exact same performance and overall speed can be attained from dual Core 2 E6850. Also the same level of performance can be had from a Core 2 Extreme QX6850. At the same time, these dual core computer options are far less expensive as well.

Not For the Average Computer User

The truth is that as far as general purpose use is concerned, a dual core or Core 2 is a far more economical option in light of all the facts that present themselves. Also bear in mind that computers with four core processors are basically meant to be used by people who are performing tasks above and beyond general purpose use.

AMD and Intel Computer Processor Battle

Computer processors
or central processing units (CPUs) are the main processing brains that execute programs on computers
. A more powerful CPU can get more things done than a slower one. There are two leading CPU manufacturers in today's computer market: AMD and Intel. Both are very popular and have their own following, so it is a difficult decision of preference. Some factors that should be considered when comparing the two brands are price, performance, life span.

Price
The price differences between Intel and AMD are constantly fluctuating, so this can only be a reliable factor to consider if you are actively following computer trends and developments. Every time a new CPU technology is released and introduced into the market by either Intel or AMD, the prices of the previous generation processors go down. Price battles between Intel and AMD are as aggressive as who can develop a faster and more improved CPU first. This is the greatest benefit to the customers as price is often the number one key to selection.

Performance
CPU performance largely depends on the generation of the processor. There was a time when AMD ruled the PC gaming niche and offered more value for the dollar. Ever since Intel released the Core 2 Duo processor, however, the company has been offering faster and more stable processors than AMD at very affordable rates. Intel is currently at the top when it comes to high-performance CPUs in the server areas, with its newest technology: the Multi Core Xeon technology. AMD still however offers the same high-performance CPUs in their next generation Opterons and just as aggressive in their pricing.

Life Span
AMD processors on average run at a much higher temperature when performing intensive user applications like games and multiple graphics software. Oftentimes, standard cooling features are not enough to protect AMD processors from damage due to overheating. Intel's Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad line of CPUs have been developed with a much lower core temperature compared to their counterpart, nonetheless, if overheated, processors from both AMD and Intel can be damaged beyond repair. The life span of a CPU is not really an issue since the average computer user generally upgrades every couple years. It is suggested to have a fan monitor for the CPU as it is more likely to go out and cause the CPU damage.

The moment either AMD or Intel release a new product, you can expect a big drop in the prices of the displaced line of CPUs. One must continue to be at the forefront of processor upgrades supply, responding quickly to market trends and new product introductions. Resource hungry programs for financial, database and graphics applications all place a strain on computing systems and create a constant requirement for cost-effective, reliable processor upgrades. Successfully providing solutions in these rapidly changing environments makes you a knowledgeable and recognized leader in the industry.

Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB

The original release of next-gen games is a bit far off. But one of the main variations in the GeForce 8800 GTX's design lies in how we consider its pipelines. During the past, we've related a 3D chip has X quantity of pixel pipelines and Y pipes for shader calculations. To explain, no pipe is targeted toward a particular task.

This suggests that if your card is processing a shader-intensive scene, it can tap from more of the pipeline pool to process that image, rather than being capped at twenty-four or 48 pipes because some of the other pipes are put aside for geometry only. This capacity should give game designers much more pliancy in how they design games, knowing that if they can balance the workload properly, they can pump lots of processing power into a given calculation.

Its transistor count sits at 681 million on a 90-nanometer manufacturing process chip. But the trick is the power supply must have two PCI Express card power connectors to plug into the two sockets on the back of the card.
Therefore, we did not get to check it, but Nvidia did share the power supply specs with us. But some of the advised models on its SLI compatibility list go as high as eight hundred and fifty and even one thousand watts.

Still, it's plain that building a next-gen SLI rig will be no miniscule undertaking, at least for the present. Heck, many midtowers PC cases are too miniscule to accept a 1,000-watt power supply. With no DirectX ten games available to check on now, we can't talk to the GeForce 8800 GTX's next-generation performance, except for the certain fact that it's the only card on the market that claims DirectX ten compatibility.

This suggests that if your card is processing a shader-intensive scene, it can tap from more of the pipeline pool to process that image, instead of being capped at twenty-four or 48 pipes because some of the other pipes are put aside for geometry only. This capacity should give game designers much more pliability in how they design games, knowing that if they can balance the workload correctly, they can pump plenty of processing power into a given calculation.

Its transistor count sits at 681 million on a 90-nanometer producing process chip. But the trick is the power supply must have 2 PCI Express card power connectors to plug into the 2 sockets on the back of the card.
Therefore , we did not get to check it, but Nvidia did share the power supply specs with us. But some of the endorsed models on its SLI compatibility list go as high as eight hundred and fifty and even one thousand watts.

Nvidia and Intel Team Up

Nvidia
, the #1 graphics chip maker in the computer industry, has finally decided to enter the netbook race. They have recently announced their newest platform, the ION. While it is not a revolutionary new chip (it has in fact been around a while), it's pairing with the Intel Atom processor is what really makes it important to netbook owners and addicts.

About Ion

Ion is a combination of the current Intel Atom processors, used in most netbooks, with Nvidias 9400M mobile GPU. The 9400M is currently used in many budget laptops and is also the GPU you will find in Apple's Macbook Pro line. The new chips will offer up 5x faster graphics as well as up to 10x faster video transcoding.

So what does this mean to you?

The Ion will allow you to run video much, much faster. For those of you that have a first generation netbook (like my HP mini), you have probably noticed that the video can cause serious hiccups. With the 9400M, you can now run HD Video in full 1080p and Nvidia even went as far as to say that the platform will be capable of Blu-Ray playback. Not only that, but Nvidia has been quoted as saying that the new platform can run Call of Duty 4 with 25-30 fps consistently. That is quite a feat considering my current netbook can barely run the simple games on Yahoo. What that also means is that this new line of netbooks should also be able to run World of Warcraft on decent quality settings. I must be honest when I tell you that this has me VERY excited.

Are there any downsides?

The only documented downside at this point has been power consumption. The new mock systems that have been tested have been exhibiting double the power consumption of previous netbooks and would cut your battery time down to about 4-5 hours for most systems. Nvidia has stated however that the Ion based netbooks will have special power saving techniques to extend the battery life, so no accurate measurement can be made until the first systems start showing up.

So when will they be out and what new models have been announced?

So far, the only time line given has been mid 2009, but we should start seeing a major crop of big name netbooks using the Ion platform soon. The leaders out of the gate will be the Lenovo S12, a new Acer, and more than likely a new Asus laptop as well, to complement their new thinner line of netbooks. I would suspect that all of the major players in the netbook race will have Ion based systems available by Christmas.

In Conclusion

The new Ion platform by Nvidia and Intel is going to be a huge step for netbooks. 5x the graphic power, 10x the video speeds, Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and 1080p all sounds great. If you already have first generation netbook, this Christmas looks like it may be a good time to upgrade.

Intel Atom Processor Netbook

If compared with other netbook such as MSI Wind U100, for example, Dell Inspiron mini 12 really looks thin. The thick is less than 1 inch, precisely 0.9 inches. In fact, the size of screen and all of the body is about 2 inches more wide than Wind U100.

Yes, Dell Inspiron mini 12 showcase is 12-inch display screen, which is still rare compared with others netbook carried by other brands.

Despite similar body-thin like Apple MacBook Air, Dell Inspiron Mini 12 does feel strong. It feels comfortable. Indeed, Dell Inspiron Mini 12 have more wider size in average compared with others netbook and can causing not being easily inserted in the handbag.

From the completeness of the features, in fact mini-12 not far differents from others netbook by other brands. Like a modern netbook, 802.11g wireless functionality is supported, 12 inch display screen. RAM, for example, are still 1GB, but unfortunately you can not upgrading the RAM.

Display Screen

12-inch display screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, of course, is the specialty of Dell Dell Inspiron Mini 12. Wide screen resolution make the use of the netbook more fun when you surf in the virtual world. Two web pages side by side can be opened and read it with quite comfortably. However, the letters look smaller, less suitable for those who have started to crash because of the vision on the old age.

Views on the screen looks very bright (too bright even on the maximum setting), and horizontal perspectives are good enough. Views can still see quite comfortable with the direction of the side. However, there are good idea to push back the screen so that the rebound effect is not felt, too.

At the top of the LCD screen, as usual, presented with a 1.3 megapixel Webcam.

Keyboard

With a more physical width compared with another netbook, not strange when the keyboard on mini 12 is also more relieved (92 percent of normal keyboard). The distance the button are wide so that makes you comfortable when typing.

Dell includes six function keys which is F11, F12, Home, Del, Insert, End which are placed on the top right side. In addition, there are 10 other function keys (F1 - F10), which also have their own features, such as Bluetooth and contrast. The Fn button is placed on the left side of the bottom..

Under the keyboard panel there are square touchpad which is also quite wide field, complete with left and right click. Touchpad is quite responsive. However, perhaps because of the wide size and the location that fit under the keyboard plus the wide of palmrest, sometimes we do not get the desired response from the touchpad which have quite fibrous surface because the cursor can move suddenly if you have small wrist.

The other different from the other vendors, Dell chose to put a speaker on the top of keyboard panel. Unfortunately, the quality of the sound is less strong despite already set up to maximum volume. However, for a netbook that is used personally and private, may have sufficient volume.

Another panel at a different location is the on / off. key When most vendors of netbook putting it on the right top side, not so with Dell. Dell prefer to put this very small on / off button on the left top side, abreast with speakers panel.

The Body

On the right side appears 3-in-1 card reader, a headphone jack, microphone jack, one USB port, and one LAN port.

The placement of the USB port are on the way back, this make less fun when you use the netbook on the knees (although this is usually not recommended because the netbook radiate enough heat) than if it is on the way forward as in most of other netbook.

On the left side there are two USB ports, VGA-out port, and for security lock (Kensington lock). Two USB ports are located in the middle of the unit, with the initial keyboard.

When you use the netbook the back of the bottom display which is close to the battery felt a bit hot. However, the keyboard and the touchpad are not affected and still comfortable to use. The bottom of the netbook was only slightly warm. Maybe because of the wide surface from this netbook plus the combination of low power processors successfully influence the spread of heat.

Processor

Mini 12 is not using the processor Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz like the others.

This netbook packaged with the Intel Atom 1.6 GHz clock speed, but in different type, that is, the Z530 (Silverthorne). This processor is designed for the smaller size devices depend with N270, the size of Silverthorne CPU nearly half (13 x 14 mm) and charged a lower consumption (2 watts vs. 2.5 watt owned N270).

Processor is a bit saggy used with Microsoft Vista as the bundle from Dell. Booting takes 1.5 - 2 seconds. The Intel GMA 500 chipset seems less suitable for gaming, including lightweight games. From the benchmark result of 3DMark 2003, the score is only 382 and failed to run 3DMark06.

The Battery

Mini 12 comes with a standard battery pack of Li-Ion 3-cell. Not included in the battery the capacity rating. However, according to Dell, the battery is able to stand up to 3 hours of use.

The claims may be true, but there are conditions that must be fulfilled. Netbook must be set first to lower the performance. This can be done easily arranged through the property of the Windows Power Options (Current Power Plan). If you want to survive your battery, you need to lower the performance by choosing Power Saver mode. However, if you need the performance you can choose High Performance that will drain the battery power more quickly or you can choose Balanced mode to balance the power of the battery and the performance.

Weight
Despite come with 12 inches wide-screen, this Mini 12 was not heavy. By default (plus 3-cell battery), the weight is only 1.268 kg. When the battery removed, the weight will be 1.1 kg.

Dell appears mature enough to prepare this netbook so comfortable and convenient to carry anywhere. For other than mild, the adapter that integrates with the cable was also light and pretty. This adapter looks similar to the phone adapter although quite large. Unfortunately only two legs, so you have to bring converter if you don't have 2 legs.

The weight of the adapter are 178 grams. If you take all, (netbook + 3-cell battery + adapter + converter), Dell Inspiron Mini 12 was still light enough with a total weight of 1.862 kg.

The advantages Dell Inspire Mini 12 is Wide screen and keyboard; thin physical; SIMcard slot; light

The disadvantages Dell Inspire Mini 12 is Mono speaker; price; SIMcard slot on the back of the battery; minimal LED indicators; RAM can not be upgraded.

Dualcore Processors Technology

Introduction:

When we are talking about dualcore processors , this question will appear in our mind that : What is the benefit of using from Dualcore processors? And With the growing of using of dual core processors, this question is more important than before. Will dual core processor be more useful for us?what is the advantages and disadvantages
of using dualcore processors? and what are the differences between Dualcore and dual processors?INTEL and AMD technology in dual core micro architecture. Which one is better?
I want to attempt in this paper to answer to these questions.

Definition of DualCore and compare with Dual Processor:

one of question for some users that they want to buy a high configuration system is if they want to have two processors in their computers. For video editing, huge graphic processing, multi-threading in applications, or a lot of multitasking the answer is positive. Then the second question becomes here: two separate processors or a single dual core processor ? Dual processor or Dual core ,which one is better for me?As we know computer manufacturers are trying to increasing the speed of processors.
However, size of duo, complexity and heat issues it has become increasingly difficult to make CPUs faster. To continue to improve performance, they reached to another solution. because having two Processors and of course one mainboard that support of hosting them is more expensive. Computer Architecture engineers created another
way: Using two Processors, Join them together in one chip. It can have the power and performance of two Processors but only one socket on the motherboard there is. This price will be cheaper , and allows for the power of two cores with a cost that is less than two separate Processors.
There are differences between brands mostly Intel and AMD that how they combined two cores in one chip, and the speeds they run each core that can directly affect how much is the performance from having a dual core Processor. Additionally, different types of programs get differing benefits and they use different types from dual core Processor that we will discuss about that in this research.
A dual core processor is exactly what that we say. It is two processor cores on one die
and like a dual processor system in one processor. AMD's Opteron processor has been
dual processor capable since started. Opteron was designed with an extra HyperTransport link that we will discuss about that. HyperTransport Technology means a faster data connection that it can to transfer more data between two chips. It
doesn't mean that the chip is faster by itself. It means this technology gives capability via the HyperTransport pathway for one chip to communication to another part.
As I explained a Dualcore Processor is a combination of two independent processors in a single package or a single integrated circuit (IC). A Dual Processor device contains two independent microprocessors and a quad core device contains four microprocessors as well. Cores in a Dualcore Processors will share a single coherent cache at the highest cache level that we say L2 Level cache, or may have
separate caches like current AMD dual-core processors. Each "core" independently
implements optimizations like: Fetching, Decoding, execution, pipelining, and
multithreading. A system with N cores is very useful when we have N or more threads at the same time . The technology is used in other technology areas in these days, especially those of embedded processors such as network processors In these
applications, multi-core processors with higher numbers of processing elements is using these days.

Section 2: Multi Processing

As a remind Multiprocessing is the using of two or more Processors in a computer system. OF course one of important issue is the ability of system for support more than one processor and the ability to allocate and divide the tasks between them.
Multiprocessing sometimes refers to the execution of various concurrent program processes in a system. However multiprogramming is very suitable to describe this concept, which is usually implemented in software, but multiprocessing is involve to describe the use of multiple Processors. Totally a system can be multiprocessing and multiprogramming , only one of them, or neither of them.

Section 3: Multi Thread Scheduling

One of question in Dualcore research is really how a computer knows when to use each core. The answer is that Operating system is responsible, because There is a part in the operating system that we call "scheduler" . Scheduler will order the Processor that which program should run at any time. This allows different programs can run at the same time, and processor can switch back between them if needed. When a lot of programs are running at the same time , a computer seems slow. If a dual-core
processor be available , the scheduler has twice Processor resource to work with that.
Normally this allows for some abilities like being able to run one core specifically for
a game, while using the other core to "background" things that keep the rest of the
system running. And sometimes both cores can work on the same program ,but if it designed to use advantage of dualcore that we call "multi-threaded". However, it is important to note that if you are running a program and it is not "multi-threaded", you will not get any benefit from more than one Processor or core.
Micro architecture of Processor resources divide to three types:
Replicated,Partitioned and shared.

Section 4 : Development

While manufacturing technology continues to improve, reducing the size of single gates become as a important issue. Some of this changing and physical limitations can create significant heat dissipation and data synchronization problems. The demand for more capable microprocessors with more efficiency causes CPU designers to use various methods of increasing performance. Some instruction-level parallelism (ILP) methods like pipelining are suitable for many applications, but they are not suitable for others. Many applications and programs are used to thread level parallelism(TLP) methods, and multiple independent CPUs is one method used to increase a system's overall TLP. Increasing available space due to refined manufacturing processes and the demand for increased TLP are the most logic behind the creation of Dualcore Procesors.

Section 5: Two cores versus Sole core

There are three important definition and term that I want to explain about them in my
paper .pipeline, cache and bus. This is the most explanations of what is pipelining in CPU .
First we should know the data instruction set. A processor loads the instructions into a pipeline. It means The data will process sequentially one set after another set.
Shorter pipeline means that more job will be perform in pipeline per clock cycle.
However with a shorter pipeline the data will get faster balancing that is very important as well. This is the main reason that AMD can compete with higher clock INTEL processors.
If the processor needs to access and communicate with outside of the cache ,it should be through the bus to system RAM. Now if the CPU cache is running at the same clock speed as the processor itself. If it is a 3GHz processor then the speed limitation between cache and the processor is 3GHz. If the processor has to communicate and
reach out of the bus to main memory then it should comes slow down to that bus speed. I mean a bus speed of 600 MHz is five times slower than the 3GHz .

Section 6: Implementation

There are different ways between AMD and Intel dual-core technology. AMD claims that they had this plan the move to dual-core from 6 years ago.from that time the first Athlon64 and Opteron released. The benefit of the AMD technology is in the way that the two cores will communicate directly with each other. Intel in another side, put two of Pentium cores on the same chip, and if they need to communicate
with each other it has to perform through the mainboard.another issue is that Intel did not increase the speed of FSB or front-side-bus that as we know is the connection between the Processor and the mainboard. It shows they
switched to dual-core and it means that the processing power did double but the amount of bandwidth for each core did not. This issue a little create suspect on the Intel design, and some users believe that Intel prevents it from being as powerful as it can be. But Intel Designers continue to use faster system memory to keep information supplied to the processor cores. For example the highest-end Intel chip,
the Pentium Extreme Edition 955chip , it has a higher FSB speed, as well as having a larger 2MB per core cache memory and the ability to use Hyperthreading.
On the other hand AMD Company, didn't use the old model of FSB. They use a new technology that we call HyperTransport to communicate with the Chipset and system memory, and they also moved the memory controller from the chipset to the
processor. By this new technology , AMD arrived to many advantage, especially with the move to dual-core processors. The latest generation of AMD solo core processor can use single channel or dual channel memory, but we should consider to that even though dual channel operation will double the memory speed, but it does not double
the actual memory performance for solo core processors. It shows that dual channel memory just provides more bandwidth than a solo processor core can use. However, with dual core processor all the extra bandwidth can be use.

Section 7: Advantages

In dual Processors at the same die have the cache coherency circuitry can that operate
much higher clock rate than is possible if the signals have to travel off-chip. It means
combining Two processors on a single die improves the performance of cache snoop or cache searching operations. That means the signals between different Processors travel shorter distances, those signals degrade less. These higher quality signals allow more data send and recieve in a specific time since individual signals can be shorter and do not need to repeat them.
Another issue is power consumption in hardware. A dualcore processor uses less power than two single-core processors or dual processors. The reason is that for increasing power required to drive signals external to the chip and because the smaller silicon process allows the cores to operate in lower voltages. The cores share some
circuitry, like the L2 cache and the interface to the front side bus (FSB).

Section 8: Disadvantages

As we learnt in Operating system and Computer Architecture totally Operating Systems try the best t use from available hardware for running the programs with maximize utilization mostly about Processor and RAM. Also, the ability of Dualcore processors to increase Software performance but it depends on the use of multiple
threads in application or program. For example, most of new video games will run faster on a 3 GHz singlecore processor than on a 2GHz dualcore processor in the the same core architecture. Because they are not capable of using more than one core at a time.
Another issue is about thermal. In a Dualcore Processor is more difficult to manage thermal than lower-density single chip processors. From an architectural point of view we can say sole core processor designs might be make better use of the silicon surface area than Dual processor design.in fact Two processing cores sharing in the same system bus and memory bandwidth will limit the real-world performance advantage. If a single core is close to being memory bandwidth limited, change to dual-core may only gives 30% to 65% improvement. And If memory bandwidth
doesn't make any problem, till 90% improvement can be expected. It would be possible for a software or application that use from two processors for running faster on one dualcore processor if communication between the Processor was the limited by factor, which would count as more than 100% improvement.

Section 9: Power Consumption

As we know the policy of Intel company is to design not only fast processors but also very economical processors when they were attemping on the new Core architecture.
Therefore, they started new activity base on performance-per-watt. That's why it is
interesting to look the power consumption of the new processors and compare it to the previous-generation processors based on older architecture.
For better conclusion I found a special utility to measure the maximum power consumption .It measured the current that goes through the CPU power circuitry. First , It measured the processors power consumption in idle mode.
The results are very diverse, as you can see, which is probably caused by too different
processor models participating. However, generally speaking, Core 2 Duo processors
can really boast the most economical performance in idle mode.

Section 10: Integral Characteristics of the Dual-Core Processors

Now I want to conclude my analysis of the new Intel processors performance and their features with those of other currently available dual-core CPUs with details for parameters that are indirectly connected with the performance rate.
For this reason , I decided to put an average performance chart for testing . We calculated this parameter as geometric mean of all normalized results obtained during this test session.
As we can see this chart again shows the better performance of the new Intel CPUs.
Athlon 64 Fx-62, can only compete with Core 2 Duo E6600, while Pentium Extreme Edition 965 cannot do competition even with Core 2 Duo E6400. From the performance view, Core 2 Extreme X6800, Core 2 Duo E6700 and Core 2 Duo E6600 on Intel Core microarchitecture won in this comparation.

Conclusion:

Actually we have made the most important conclusions about the performance, pricing and power consumption of DualCore Processors in this research. I just want to say once again that Intel company really did a great and excellent job with these processors on Core micro architecture.of course I don't want to say that AMD lost this competition and market in the world. This company managed with different way
and policy for their technology and products.and as we know AMD let Intel take the high-end market, but the cheaper price of AMD causes the are still remind as a powerfull competitor for intel.Ans also let me say that Pentium D processor family that has lost quite a few of its
members will still remain in demand. Despite the high over heating and power consumption of the models in this family, they will still be a good choice for inexpensive or home systems.
As you can see, the move to dual-core is definitely a win for consumers. Since they
are more economy than dual processor computers, and they can give the same or better performance. It can be the standard for modern computer systems.

Threats of Cheap Hosting

There are several people who considers cheap web hosting similar to free web hosting, however it may be a bit harsh, there are certain factors underlying which the user
should keep in consideration while searching for a cheap web host
.

These related factors are given below:

Downtime:

One cannot find an ideal output; if even after spending immense amount of time and bucks in the construction of a dream site, user reaches to a point where people cannot access it. Hence, in the process of selecting the ideal web host from the ocean of cheap web hosts prevailing in the market, the user should ensure that available downtime does not harm business due to use of cheap quality host.

Be Cautious for Bandwidth attack:

For a user it is a vital factor to keep in mind the amount of bandwidth and storage space the host is delivering to him/her as an output of monthly payment. Bandwidth, no doubt is a golden key for a site’s success, as a site which is very well known, which attracts huge amount of traffic will obviously require more quantity of bandwidth. It may happen before the expected schedule and it is quite necessary that the user should have some options left with him/her if he/she faces sudden shortage of bandwidth. Or else, the user may need to counter extended downtime in the condition when it should not happen, so as to grab the lump of traffic that the user is attracting.

Check technical skills of the host:

It is a sign of ideal webhosting services if they put provision of their web servers on their respective sites. When the user deeply analyzes this information he/she comes to know about the stability of host’s server system. The user can easily judge, the inverse relation between stability and downtimes. No doubt, there are several guys not having the technical knowledge, but at least they can consult somebody of their knowledge assisting them in analyzing the technical terminology at the hosts’ site.

Verify the site several times in 24 hours:

It is quite common with several webmasters that due to huge amount of work they even forget to check their own sites. One cannot deny the fact that, it is a serious matter. It is very necessary and for this even if any extra effort or cash is involved of hiring somebody to do it for him/her on a regular basis through out the day, then too it is a profitable act. The job is not completely done with the site’s frequent accessibility but presence of everything and working efficiency should also be considered. This is the only way measurement of user’s efficiency and business is conducted by visitors, so one should take trouble for no one but for his/her own sake to ensure proper uptime and efficiency of the site.

At the end, one can say that, it is not impossible to get cheap but hardworking host, but it will need an ample of work & checking from the other side i.e. from user’s side. A web host directory is another friend which assists a lot in such situation.

Cheap Hosting Packages and Low Cost Web Hosting

The one who is planning to have an economic web hosting plan, knowing what services he/she requires, the amount that he/she should pay for them can help one pick out hidden costs that could launch one’s selected cheap hosting plan into an expense that one just can't afford. The following are some of the points to keep in mind while selecting a cheap web hosting for personal or business web site.

A La Carte Pricing

One should not be pulled in by impossibly low prices. Due to intense competition and due to resellers ,the prices of web hosting have came down to just bottom, still one should expect to pay for quality, dependable, professional web hosting services. A la carte prices can give an impression that a web hosting plan is incredible good deal, but one should be prepared to know exactly what he/she needs and what he/she will be paying for it. When one add in setup fees, upgrade fees and additional monthly fees for things like scripting support, a mySQL database and php support, one can end up paying far more for his/her affordable plan. Thus it’s better to opt for a little expensive plan but which is without any hidden costs.

Read the Fine Print

One should read through every little entry in the comparison chart to see for what one is being charged for, and what fees he/she might incur if he/she will go over his/her monthly limits. In case there is anything not clear or is not listed properly, one should immediately email the company to ask what they charge for particular services and if there's a setup fee. Thus it will tell one more than just how much the services cost. Not only will that one also get an idea about the effectiveness of support and help of the provider.

Is Unlimited really Unlimited?

One should be very careful while selecting host reading glasses away yet. If a host provider is offering plan with 'unlimited traffic’, then one should be very sure to check what does unlimited mean for them .Mostly web hosting providers use 'typical usage patterns' to define what unlimited means. If one’s web site becomes popular enough to exceed what's normal for other web sites of one’s size, then he/she has to be prepared for paying extra for bandwidth and in that case the word ‘unlimited’ is just meaningless.

E-Commerce Ready Sites for Cheap Prices

Often one gets attracted with the above given article. But one should check to see what's actually included in that cheap e-commerce ready site. Does it include access to their secure server, or will one have to purchase his/her own license? Is there a good deal on bill-collecting services and credit card access, or will one have to arrange by him/her own? Thus one should be very sure to know what he/she is getting for his/her money so that he/she can plan his/her web hosting expenses in a better way.

Generally there are lots of justifiably good web hosting deals to be had, but just like any other purchase, it also requires one to do his/her homework in a better way to make sure that one gets the most affordable, most professional and best web hosting deal .

Cheap Hosting Availability Zones

It is a matter of fact that if user has decided to use cheap web hosting then he/she should know about his/her actual requirement of disk space in advance. User should have actual knowledge of area of website, no. of pages, video files, music files, etc. required by the user. AMD Phenom Triple-Core Processor

AMD’s triple-core processors have been on the horizon for months now and, after all the speculation and derision, they are finally here. The launch included three Phenom X3 processors: the 8750, 8650, and 8450, all of which will come in at under $200.

AMD is, as expected, positioning these processors between their dual-core and quad-core offerings and is targeting cost-conscious consumers, people who will appreciate the performance boost but would rather save a few dollars than go with a quad-core.The three 65nm models will arrive at 2.1, 2.3, and 2.4GHz frequencies, respectively priced at $145, $165, and a hefty $195 for the 8750. These models have a TDP of 95W and 1.5MB total L2 cache per processors as well as 2MB shared cache. Also included is HT 3.0, a 1.8GHz memory controller, and Dual Dynamic Power Management. And because this is a 50 series processor we know it is a B3 revision model. They are AM2+ (940 pin) compatible so consumers won’t necessarily need new hardware to run an X3.Having the basic information in front of you, it’s not immediately clear whether AMD is fulfilling a need that no one has, offering an interesting new option to consumers, or just making the best out of their situation (by releasing “broken” quad-cores as X3s). What we do know though is that outside of enthusiasts circles there won’t be the clamoring and complaints about the third core, rather it’ll probably be seen as nothing more (or less) than something between two other options.AMD is also touting a platform approach–not exactly admitting that they can’t compete with Intel on a processor-by-processor basis, but rather than their entire package is better than the competition’s. Specifically, this platform is “Cartwheel”, AMD’s current take on a main-stream computer with integrated graphics. By using the 780G chipset AMD could actually produce a better system (dollar-for-dollar) than Intel, so long as you subscribe to their platform approach, something that may actually make sense considering that most sub-$200 processors are found in pre-built computers.
